Print draft feedback and learner response

Estimated current grade for print work: B

Comments and feedback:

  • This is a really strong set of draft pages – well done! So many nice touches in terms of font, design, image manipulation and more. You’ve got the shoe sponsorship into the article and it reads pretty well (clearly original too!)
  • The front cover is excellent – I love what you’ve done with the main image. The only thing you may want to look over is your use of text and page layout – go back to your research and see if there is anything you can spot to add that professional finish needed for A/A*.
  • For the double page spread the page design is pretty close but I wonder if it’s worth looking at how you’re using images and what else you have from your photoshoot? Check you are meeting the minimum requirements of the brief too.
  • In terms of the text itself, check carefully for typos – we need a 100% professional finish.
  • For the tour poster, again it’s pretty much there but are there any conventions you could add to give it a professional finish? You might want to think about image selection and text layout here too.
  • For all the pages, it’s good practice before the final draft to go back through the minimum requirements of the brief carefully – there are quite a few details in there and we need to meet all of them for a top grade.

Learner response:

  • Create a new blogpost on your Media 2 coursework blog called ‘Print draft feedback and learner response’.
  • Summarise your feedback in a few bullet points in your own words. You do not have to put your current estimated grade if you do not want to.
  • As your learner response, pick out the three specific improvements/changes you need to make to your print work for your final drafts.
    • Re work double page spread
    • Fix text on tour poster
    • Make text on front cover more legible (add dropshadows)
