Comments for AQA:

This is a clear statement of intent that offers an excellent concept that matches the music video / music magazine brief. It targets the specified audience appropriately and outlines a compelling and achievable narrative. Slightly unclear on performance element / explicit reference to how artist will feature in the video (as specified in brief).

Media language elements are considered although perhaps lacking specific details in places e.g. certain shots or types of editing not described specifically or lack the ‘how’ or ‘why’ required for the top levels.

Representation is addressed with reference to two theorists but not really developed or explained which keeps this from the top levels.

Audience is addressed impressively with demographics, psychographics and audience pleasures. Application of more audience theory could push this to the top level.

Digital convergence is a strength with discussion of consumption, social media and audience participation/interaction.

Print element of brief is addressed but perhaps lacking some specific details for the top level.

Feedback:

This is not far from the top levels and just needs a few extra elements for a 7-10 mark.

For Media language, you need to make sure you are explaining either ‘how’ or ‘why’ for everything you include. If not, you won’t be getting any marks for that bullet point.

Meeting the brief – go back over it and make sure you cover every aspect of the brief. For example, the requirement for the artist to be in the video… will you have a performance element? Lip syncing? Is your actor also the artist? How will you make this clear?

Representation is a weaker area – you do mention a couple of theorists but much more depth required. I would also consider which theorists you discuss too – there are potentially some very interesting points about gender, race/ethnicity etc. that you could discuss in much more detail.

Print brief is addressed impressively but I would still go back to this in January to add specific details when you have done the print research and planning tasks.
